What this adapter preserves

Compatibility for Canon EF lens on a Fujifilm X body (computed from the lensmount dataset — open the Canon EF to Fujifilm X adapter page for the full verdict, flange clearance, and adapter caveats).

  • Focus: Full AF
  • IS: IS / IBIS preserved
  • Aperture: Electronic aperture
  • Infinity focus: Reaches infinity

Format note: Lens covers full-frame; body is APS-C — 1.5× crop factor applies relative to the lens's native image circle. No vignetting; the body uses the centre of the lens.

What it does

Firmware updates over USB have continued for years post-release.

Specific lens compatibility

Per-lens notes for the Fringer EF-FX Pro II based on the vendor's published compatibility chart and community-tested behaviour. Three states: works () — full AF / IS / aperture behave as native; partial () — usable with a documented caveat; issue () — known incompatibility or rough edge.

LensStatusNote
Sigma 18-35 mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art (EF)WorksA flagship EF-on-Fuji pairing — full PDAF on X-T5 / X-H2S, IS not applicable. v1.50 firmware brought tracking parity with native XF zooms.
Canon EF 70-200 mm f/2.8L IS III USMWorksFull IS pass-through; Animal / Bird / Vehicle subject-detect AF works on X-H2S from v2.00 firmware.
Sigma 150-600 mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary (EF)Partialv1.50 firmware specifically addressed continuous-AF refinements with this lens. Works for static wildlife / sport but tracking is slower than a native XF 150-600.
Tamron 28-75 mm f/2.8 Di III VXD G2IssueNot supported — Tamron's Di III lenses are FE / Z native, not EF. For the original EF-mount Tamron 28-75 Di USD, see Fringer's v1.30 chart.

Common questions

Does the Fringer EF-FX Pro II support PDAF on the X-T5, X-H2, and X-H2S?
Yes — v1.50 firmware added X-H2S / X-H2 / X-T5 phase-detect tracking, and v2.00 added Animal / Bird / Vehicle subject-detect AF specifically on the X-H2S.
Which EF lenses work best on the Pro II?
Sigma Global Vision EF Art / Contemporary / Sports primes are most reliable. Canon L USM zooms (70-200 f/2.8 III, 100-400 II, 24-70 II) and Tamron G2 lenses are explicitly listed by Fringer.
Can it autofocus older screw-drive EF lenses?
There are no screw-drive EF lenses — Canon EF has been ring-USM / micro-USM / STM throughout. All EF autofocus runs through the in-lens motor, which the Fringer drives electronically.
