  • IS: IS / IBIS preserved
  • Aperture: Electronic aperture
  • Infinity focus: Reaches infinity

What it does

Three variants: plain, Control Ring (extra rotation ring), Drop-In Filter (variable ND or circular polarizer slides in).

Common questions

Does the EF-EOS R preserve autofocus on every EF lens?
Yes — every USM, STM, and screw-drive EF / EF-S lens keeps its native AF behaviour on an RF body. The adapter forwards Canon's full EF lens protocol over its 12 body-side contacts unchanged.
Which version should I get — plain, Control Ring, or Drop-In Filter?
The plain version covers most photographers. Control Ring adds a programmable rotation ring matching native RF lens ergonomics. Drop-In Filter accepts a variable ND or circular polarizer slot — useful for video shooters dealing with mixed front-element sizes.
Does it work with EF-S (APS-C) lenses on a full-frame RF body?
Yes — the RF body auto-engages 1.6× APS-C crop mode whenever an EF-S lens is mounted, so the imaging area matches the lens's image circle without vignetting.
