Urth · Olympus OMSony E adapter

Urth Olympus OM-E Olympus OMSony E adapter

Olympus OM (Zuiko) bayonet onto Sony E. Mechanical-only ring — no AF, no electronics. The OM aperture ring drives the diaphragm directly. Recycled-aluminum build with a matte-black interior that helps suppress flare from bright vintage elements.

What this adapter preserves

Compatibility for Olympus OM lens on a Sony E body (computed from the lensmount dataset — open the Olympus OM to Sony E adapter page for the full verdict, flange clearance, and adapter caveats).

  • Focus: Manual focus only
  • IS: No IS
  • Aperture: Manual aperture ring
  • Infinity focus: Reaches infinity

What it does

The 46 mm OM flange clears Sony E's 18 mm by 28 mm — glassless, infinity preserved. The famously compact OM Zuiko primes (24/2, 35/2, 50/1.4, 100/2) pair naturally with small α bodies.

Common questions

Can an OM Zuiko lens autofocus on Sony?
No — OM is a manual-focus mount with no electrical contacts, so autofocus is impossible on any adapter. Focus by hand with Sony peaking and magnify; the OM aperture ring sets the diaphragm.
Does the Urth OM-E reach infinity focus?
Yes — OM's 46 mm flange is far beyond Sony E's 18 mm, so a thin glassless ring reaches infinity comfortably. There's no glass element, so the rendering is purely the Zuiko's.
Urth or K&F OM-NEX — does it matter?
Mechanically they're comparable OEM-grade rings; both reach infinity and fit the OM bayonet identically. K&F is usually cheaper; Urth uses recycled aluminum, plastic-free packaging, and funds tree-planting. For premium daily use a Novoflex OM/NEX has tighter tolerances at several times the price.
